SONJA MARIE – Poet, Vocalist, Performer, Author, Astrologer, Hampton University Alum & Renaissance woman, has blazed a trail some say, a little before her time. Emerging onto the scene with her song,
“And I Gave My Love to You” off the “Waiting to Exhale” soundtrack. Touring nationally and internationally, with her band adding a special blend of poetry, vocal styling and contagious Funk jazz. Sonja has collaborated with several artists including, Teena Marie, Cody ChesnuTT and Organized Noize.
Her passion to write became the catalyst to create two albums – The Black Album: Vol. 1 and Nativity Screams – featured in five poetic anthologies, complete two novels – “The Signs: An Astrological Memoir” and “Squirrel”.
Her artistic scope expands onto the stage with her first Solo Show entitled, “FREE BRICKS”.
Wordlife Astrology stemmed from the conviction of the word depicted through astrological/spiritual insights. As founder, she manifested thousands of clients, weekly Astrology Podcast on YouTube – Sonja Marie’s Wordlife Astrology, seven years of wellness retreats and earned the title of Horoscope columnist for ESSENCE Magazine (2014 – 2022), where 3 million readers were privy to her poetic yet honest predictions.
She is currently reigniting the stage with a soul revival of her poetic, musical stylings and re-introducing her love for theater with “FREE BRICKS”, her one woman show.
